Sedgley is an area of Dudley in the West Midlands and is located on the road between Wolverhampton and Birmingham.

Sedgley was an ancient manor of nine villages and the Domesday survey lists it as an estate held by the Lord of Dudley. The former farming community grew through industrialisation and Sedgley became an area of residential suburbs as new housing was built to house families from slum clearances in central Dudley before World War II. Three of Sedgley's original 'back to back' cottages have been re-built at the Black Country Living Museum.

One of the highest points in the West Midlands, Beacon Hill, houses grade II listed Sedgley Beacon Tower. The look out tower was built for astronomy in 1846, on the site of an earlier look out tower that was one of a series built to signal war or turmoil.
