The civil parish of Warsop lies on the outskirts of Sherwood Forest with good road links to the nearby towns of Worksop and Mansfield and just 20 minutes from the M1. Nearby Shirebrook railway station on the Robin Hood line provides a regular service between Worksop and Nottingham.

A carnival and sports day are held in the town annually. Warsop Watermill was built on the River Meden in 1765, and the restored building is now a private home. The Parish Church of St. Peter and St.Paul was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086.
