Lambeth

The Borough of Lambeth was formed in 1965 when Lambeth, Clapham and Streatham were combined. Lambeth Palace on the Thames is the official London residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The building originates from about 1200, but has been extensively added to and rebuilt over the centuries. The Imperial War Museum, London is housed in Bethlem Royal Hospital building in Lambeth, which was granted Grade II listed status in 1972.
