Greenwich

Formerly part of Kent, Greenwich is an area in South East London notable for its Maritime history and for giving its name to Greenwich Meridian as well as Greenwich Mean Time.

The Palace of Placentia in Greenwich was the birthplace to many royal Tudors including Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. However the palace building fell into disrepair during the English Civil War until it was rebuilt by Sir Christopher Wren and used as the Royal Naval Hospital for Sailors.
