Gunnislake

Gunnislake lies on the border between Cornwall and Devon, on the River Tamar. Gunnis means Mine, and mining in the area made Gunnislake one of Europe's prominent mining locations in Victorian times - in 1862, over 7,000 miners were employed here. There is also an old copper mine dating from the 16th century.
