Langford is so named as there used to be two or three fords along the length of the village - hence long ford. A saxon village, it is mentioned in the Domesday Book as having 2 mills. St Andrew's Church is Grade I listed, and has 13th century origins. It is thought that a church had been on that site for centuries before the present building.
