The picturesque village of Haworth, home of the Bronte sisters and host village of the Tour de France-Yorkshire, attracts visitors from around the world. Its well-preserved historic charm makes Haworth a popular tourist attraction and the home of numerous period dramas.

Haworth’s pretty, historic cobbled Main Street is home to a labyrinth of shops, crafts and tea rooms, interspersed with quaint terraced homes. The former character of the buildings is retained and there are spectacular views across Haworth to the village’s attractive Central Park. The Edwardian buildings that house Oakworth Station (as seen in the Railway Children and several TV programmes) are on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, which runs vintage steam trains through the village. The famous Bronte Parsonage, now houses the Bronte Museum. The wild and rugged South Pennine moorland around Haworth offers a variety of walks.

The 17th century East Riddlesden Hall is a manor house built on the River Aire. A manor house has existed on the site since the 7th century and its thousand years of history was saved following a survey by the National Trust. Visitors can now visit the Hall with its Grade I listed 400-year old Great Barn and Bothy, which would once have housed the estate and farm workers. The Cliffe Castle Museum is housed in the former manor home of Victorian textile millionaire, H I Butterfield.

Neighbouring Keighley’s mainline railway station is just 15 minutes away and Haworth is just a 25 minute drive from Bradford and Halifax.
