{"id":825,"date":"2010-07-23T10:16:18","date_gmt":"2010-07-23T09:16:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.propertysurveying.co.uk\/newsletter\/?page_id=825"},"modified":"2016-02-02T12:35:36","modified_gmt":"2016-02-02T12:35:36","slug":"council-of-mortgage-lenders-june-figures-released","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.propertysurveying.co.uk\/newsletter\/?page_id=825","title":{"rendered":"Council of Mortgage Lenders &#8211; June Figures Released."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mortgages issued by the <a title=\"Council of Mortgage Lenders\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cml.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Council of Mortgage Lenders<\/a> Members increased from \u00c2\u00a311.4 billion in May to \u00c2\u00a313.1 billion in June according to figures released today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gross lending was up 17% in the second quarter of the year, from \u00c2\u00a330 billion to \u00c2\u00a335 billion, but the total for the first 6 months of 2010 is the same as that for 2009.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the market commentary, CML economist Paul Samter commented:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Our gross lending estimate of \u00c2\u00a313.1 billion in June represents a seasonal pick-up and is higher than June last year, but is still indicative of low levels of activity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;There are signs of house prices stabilising and more properties coming onto the market following the abolition of home information packs.
