Their lender has already arranged a mortgage valuation (which it is important to remember does <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not<\/span> constitute a survey and will <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not<\/span> uncover anything like the level of detail a prospective purchaser needs) and supplies a quote for a further building survey or homebuyers report.<\/p>\n<p>In many cases, the quotes these establishments supply their clients are extortionately high: relying on apathy on the part of the client to simply accept the offer without shopping around. For example, a recent report came in from one of our surveyors concerning a \u00c2\u00a3280,000 property. The client had had a mortgage valuation done, at a cost to them of \u00c2\u00a3350, and were quoted \u00c2\u00a31250 for an additional building survey.
