88 new build homes demolished due to issues with foundations<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Only weeks after they were built, plans were submitted to demolish 88 newly-built homes due to faulty foundations. The trench filled foundations did not allow sufficient protection against heave, which caused the foundations to move.<\/p>\n

The presence of small cracks in block walls and brickwork is not usually something to be too concerned about. We look at the limits of what cracking should be considered acceptable and when your home might require building repairs or an assessment from a property professional.<\/p>\n

Cumberland Council has started a process of enforced purchase on a property that has not been lived in for twenty years. The body has been criticised over its \u201cheavy-handed use of the enforced purchase powers\u201d.<\/p>\n

How to keep your property warm<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n

With spring still some way off, here are some practical and cheap hacks to keep your property warm(er). This article assumes you have already followed the good practice advised by your friendly professional Chartered Surveyor, such as appropriate loft insulation and property maintenance. Also, that you have foregone chic and are wearing Michelin Man-style layers topped with a hat!<\/p>\n

A London artist and twenty of her friends have spent the last twenty years decorating the front of her house to represent her life story. The \u2018unusual and distinct\u2019 and highly colourful mural gets a largely positive reaction from local people in Chiswick, although some of her neighbours are more critical of her artwork.<\/p>\n
