\u00e2\u20ac\u201c the experts questioned by Privilege Home Insurance suggested that a good neighbour can have a positive effect on property value, enhancing its value by 9.4 per cent and adding \u00c2\u00a319,856 to the average property in the UK.\u00c2\u00a0 Astonishingly, the difference between having good and bad neighbours is worth \u00c2\u00a337,000 to the average UK householder or, in London, just over \u00c2\u00a383,000.<\/p>\n<p>The research reveals the top ten list of problems that can devalue the average home.\u00c2\u00a0 While you might think these are things under your Volkswagen.\u00c2\u00a0 The best neighbours are 60\u00e2\u20ac\u2018plus Plymouth residents, who drive a Nissan, don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t own a pet and are single.<\/p>\n<table anti-social hours<\/td>\n<td width=\"161\">13.6%<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>According to the survey, 31 per cent of people with bad neighbours also experienced sleeplessness, with a loss of an average of two and a quarter hours\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 sleep each night.<\/p>\n<p>Eighteen per cent of Londoners with bad neighbours are most likely to want to move, followed by 16 per cent of those in the West Midlands and 14 per cent of those in Yorkshire and Humber.<\/p>\n<p>Privilege\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Dan Simson said:\u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Our increasingly hectic lives can mean that household maintenance falls to the bottom of the priorities list \u00e2\u20ac\u201c especially for busy families. \u00c2\u00a0Yet this study shows that a poorly kept home can affect not just the value of your own property, but the value of those around you too.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Sometimes fixing something like a broken window can seem like a burden both on time and finances, but it can also have a negative impact on the area as a whole. \u00c2\u00a0Most home insurance policies cover you for accidental damage, so people should check their documents &#8211; it might be an easier buildings and fixtures (such as stone cladding or faux tudor-style beams) and unattractive curtains, garden gnomes or water features.\u00c2\u00a0 If your buyer can see any of these next door, your
