Broxbourne

Broxbourne's name is derived from the Old English meaning badger's stream. It is separated from Hoddesdon by a small tributary of the River Lea called Spital Brook. The 900 year old Broxbourne Mill was destroyed by fire in 1949. The site, known as The Old Mill and Meadows, is a nature reserve open to the public.
