Office for National Statistics – March 2015
UK Average = £273k, up 9.6% over the year,  a 1.1% increase over the month
Excluding London and the South East:  Average = £211k, up 8.1% over the year.

Land Registry – April 2015
Average for England and Wales = £179,817, up 0.9% in the month, up 5.1% over the year.

Halifax – April 2015
UK Average = £196,412, up 1.6% in the month, up 2.2% in the quarter, up 8.5% in the year.

Nationwide – May 2015
UK average = £195,166, up 0.3% in the month, up 4.6% in the year.

Rightmove –12th April to 9th May 2015
UK average = £285,891, down 0.1% in the period, up 2.5% in the year.

Acadata – April 2015
Average England and Wales = £275,961, up 0.2% from last month, up 5.3% in the year.
Excluding London and the South East: up 4.1% in the year.

RICS Survey Overview.
The RICS Residential Market Survey for April 2015 (published 14th May 2015) says that “Lack of stock pushes prices up in all areas”, and that the “general election may have deterred some sellers from listing their properties for sale”.
The North West saw the largest price increases over the month, followed closely by Northern Ireland, whilst Wales and the North saw the smallest increases. There were no decreases this month.
Northern Ireland once again had the highest level of agreed sales, whereas London saw the largest falls.
The North had the highest positive levels of enquiries in the month whereas East Anglia saw the largest drop.
The highest level of vendor instructions was in Scotland, whereas the lowest was in Yorkshire & Humberside – although London wasn’t far behind.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) House Price Index (HPI), previously published by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), is a monthly release that publishes figures for mix-adjusted average house prices and house price indices for the UK, its component countries and regions. The index is calculated using mortgage financed transactions that are collected via the Regulated Mortgage Survey by the Council of Mortgage Lenders.
