Did you know?

Monmouthshire is a unitary authority in south Wales, formed in 1996 when Gwent was abolished and became a preserved county. Caldicot Castle - a 12th century Grade I listed building - was once owned by Thomas of Woodstock, a son of King Edward III of England. The inventor of self-raising flour, Henry Jones, lived in Caldicot and is buried in St Mary's churchyard.
