The Chartered Surveyors contactable via this website generally perform Building Surveys, major defects surveys, homebuyers reports or house buyer reports, valuations or single fault assessments. Some carry out photographic inspections and assessments of properties for purchasers at the same time as carrying out building surveys or other reports. (Building Surveys were formerly called structural surveys but the RICS changed their name.) |

A local inspection by an Independent Chartered Surveyor with local knowledge and enquiries via your solicitor are advisable. It should be noted that the majority of properties on this postcode check system which are stated as in a high risk flood area are unlikely to flood and a few properties that are not mentioned could flood.
If you are already in or thinking about purchasing a property in an area with a flooding risk it would be wise to read the RICS Consumer Guide to Flooding.
