Learning to Sail on Tamar Lakes near Kilkhampton.
The Tamar Lakes astride the historic county border are located 3 miles from Kilkhampton.
The Upper Lake (now a setting for watersports) was built in 1977 to help provide water for the Bude and Holsworthy area. The Lower Tamar Lake (now a nature reserve) was built to provide a water reservoir for the Bude Canal in the 1820's. Now managed by the South West Lakes Trust
